Sandra’s Discussion Forum
In this section of my Blog I ask that those of you reading, who wish to discuss the current state of our Criminal Justice System, Crime in Canada, or even a current events in your town or Province to please feel free to vent them. I will try and answer and elaborate my views on these issues.
I think this would be a great place for those who have lost a child or a loved one, or even those tired of being prisoners in their own homes due to the level of violence in our cities to SPEAK OUT.
I look forward to reading your posts, and hope that many of you will speak out, and speak honestly on these matters.
Sandra

Dear Sandra,
Congratulations on getting your story into the House of Commons.
If our laws won’t protect innocent victims and they’re loved ones we should have the right to file law suits against the law makers, teh Police and the Courts including Judges who fail to adaquately represent the innocent.
I feel that Canadians should have the right to pursue legal action against the Federal Government for damages and malfeasance/misfeaseance when they fail to adaquately charge and imprison criminals who hurt or kill others.
Perhaps this could be your next consideration…..?

Hi Terry,
Thank you for being the first to post your comments/questions in our Discussion Forum. I want to thank you for your support, and encouragement, and hope we will be spoken of in the House of Commons more often.
To answer your first post about filing law suits against the Federal Government, the problem is determining who is ultimately responsible for the crime.
Let’s use the Penner’s case as an example. Ryan Ross Crossley was a violent youth out on bail awaiting sentencing on another weapons charge. During his time out on bail, he murdered Jesse Penner.
Now, the question is, who does the lawsuit hold liable? The Federal government would immediately abdicate their role by stating that they only make laws, its up to the Province to administer justice (which is true). So who to blame?
The Judge who granted bail? The parents who failed to enforce the conditions of his bail? The court clerks who failed to produce relevant transcripts of his arrest record to the Judge? The Crown prosecutor who didn’t argue the bail application? Or simply class action everybody?
While I agree that there should be some mechanism to hold civil servants accountable (and that includes Judges) for gross negligence, it simply has never happened.
This is something that F.A.C.T. will continue to pursue as there are many out there who feel the time is now to hold our Government and Judiciary accountable.
Dear Sandra,
There is a new technology available that can be found at http://www.bitiptv.com which is high definition live web tv. This technology can instantly broadcast all FACT stories instantly around the world, just like CNN without the cost, politics, waiting or errors in reporting.
All you need is a Logitech 9000 web cam ($130) connected to a computer and internet provider and you can broadcast anywhere in the world. The fees are being established as this is a new technology and platform.

Hi Terry,
Thank you for the heads up on this new technology. I will be sure to check it out! It’s a fantastic idea….
Hi Sandra,
Sorry I have not talked to you in a long time. We have been very busy adjusting to our son’s diabetes etc. We are so grateful that we still have him and got to it in time to save him
April 15th there was a review hearing for Raymond. They are not saying anything to the family, we are supposed to be getting calls Tomorrow from the crown. I am so terrified that he is going to be released and show up here. I know it will be bad and someone will die for sure.
We got nowhere with various levels of Gov. The Feds are stating that it is the provincial gov authority to have the estate made off limits to him, yet that windbag Oppal will not even do a dang thing.
Should I make it an election issue???
Talk soon and I like the new site

I know exactly how you are feeling. All the thoughts you have about the justice system and how they have failed us are as true for me here in Nova Scotia as they are for you there in B.C. Murder and the Lack of justice from coast to cosst will be the name of my book.
On August 6, 2009 we will be in court for the 24th time for the murder trial of my daughter Jennifer. Jennifer was sexually tortured raped and strangled by a person known to her, all because of the psychopath she worked with had fallen in love with her and his grilfriend found out about it so they planned to murder her. And they suceeded on December 29,2007. We found her December 31,2007, Happy F###ing New Years to me!!!! The pain and anguish just does not stop. Not only did these people murder our children they killed all of the family members left behind, they should be tried for multiple counts of murder. Bring back the death penalty. I think the only way the justice system will ever change is for the Prime Minister and the other elected officials to feel the pain that murder and crime cause. I wonder how fast a murderer would be convicted if Harpers family was involved, and how fast they would be out on bail.
I can’t imagine your anguish over this animals bail being set. I know I would never want to face that. Jennifers trial hasn’t even happened yet and won’t until June of 2010. I hope we can succeed some day in storming parliament I know this angers the hell out of me.

My son was murdered on Dec. 25, 2009 around 11:00 by his girlfriend’s brother.
He is a repeat offender, violent, court hasn’t started yet, but on the 13 of May they will set a date for a bail hearing. He has pleaded not guilty, even though his sister is a witness against him. The prosecution and det. on the case are advising against the bail and want him to stay in jail where he has been since Christmas.
Since he has no money of his own, someone must be posting bail, so, are we allowed to know who is posting bail?
