As part of our “Victims Reaching Out to Victims” Workshop, F.A.C.T. Founders David Toner & Sandra Martins-Toner will be presenting a one day Developmental Workshop. The  Workshop will include the basic knowledge and protocols for contacting and dealing, and communicating effectively with crime victims and their families following the traumatic death of their loved one.

 

This workshop offers the unique perspective of being facilitated from the “Victims Point Of View.” V.P.O.V. is a new and crucial perspective for frontline support workers and emergency responders to better understand and deal with those affected by a violent trauma.

Understanding the victims/families traumatic loss and grief

How to build a supportive connection between Frontline/Support worker and victim/family

New perspectives on grief and coping strategies

How to diffuse anger and victim hostility

How to direct the victim/family members to appropriate resources

How to assist the victim with writing a Victim Impact Statement

 

 

FORMAT:  An interactive workshop with opportunities to ask questions, and apply the information to your own day to day needs.
