Families Against Crime & Trauma -F.A.C.T.

Families Against Crime & Trauma (F.A.C.T.) is a non-profit organization here to provide a voice to those who have lost a loved one to a violent crime, or have been affected by a criminal act. F.A.C.T. was founded by Sandra Martins-Toner, and David Toner in August of 2006.
Their family had lost a son to a violent crime and had become disillusioned by the treatment they received from the provided Government Programs, and by the Criminal Justice System.
Sandra and David began reaching out to others who had been affected by a violent crime, or had lost a loved one to a criminal act. Encouragement and support from the community and victims/families began to pour in.

Since we began F.A.C.T. a little over 2 years ago, we have gained National attention, and have established members/supporters across Canada.
We have gained credibility with the media, and are called upon regularly to speak out about the current state of our judiciary and comment on current cases before the courts.
F.A.C.T. has also begun to advocate on behalf of families who have been touched by violence.
We have built a relationship with local politicians and members of the Provincial & Federal Government in hopes of creating changes to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The need for support and guidance was not there for the families during their grievous time, so they decided to create an organization to help others.
In a very short time F.A.C.T. grew quickly, and began to tackle the current state of the Judicial System and Federal Laws.
We have become political allies for those in Parliament who believe in our cause, and a platform for victims/families to be heard.

F.A.C.T. has caught the attention of the Provincial & Federal Government, Judiciary, Police Forces, legal Aide Services and the Communities.
We have been called by many a force to be reckoned with, and an organization to become involved with.
